As malnutrition remains a great threat to the communities on the informal settlements, Santiago Perfecto serves the underserved at Kayole Nutritional Centre particularly children under the age of 5 years, young women and Children with mental health issues.
Our main work includes health education in partnership with the local community leaders and grassroots organizations.
We have partnered with universities to further research activities for students perusing post graduate studies to optimize nutritional feeding patterns with locally available and seasonal foods to counter malnutrition.
In this noble work we publish and distribute booklets on healthy nutrition and care particularly for children with mental health issues.
Our main aspiration is to systemize approaches and interventions to micronutrient deficiency among Kenyan communities particularly for children with mental health issues within the informal settlements and the rural areas.
Adolescent Girls And Young Women
SANTIAGO PERFECTO runs a network of trained Adolescents and youth headed by Santiago Perfecto adolescents and youth program officer. The adolescents and youth network is effective in providing nutrition information, referrals and linkage to services, take lead in grassroots advocacy in the communities which include peri-urban areas among adolescents and young people supporting the 78% youth population in Kenya. The youth Network provides technical leadership and support to the organization on adolescents and youth programming and implementation.
The youth network engages in periodic advocacy campaigns targeting both county and grassroots policymakers and opinion leaders on child nutrition and mental health implementation and accountability.
The youth network supports monitoring the opposition both offline and online.
The youth peer providers provide information and services to adolescents and youth in the communities including peri-urban areas.
The youth advocates organize community dialogues and outreaches the gatekeepers, opinion leaders, adolescents and youth.
The Youth Network engages on a WhatsApp platform where they conduct weekly peer to peer nutrition discussions and support for mother of children with mental health issues.
The youth Network supports the promotion of the hotline “Kick out Malnutrition” through sharing on digital media and offering referrals to the hotline. They also play a critical role in client follow up especially for adolescents and youth.
The Youth Network holds youth clinics where they engage in peer to peer mental support, peer to peer counselling and sporting activities as an avenue to sharing Nutrition information.

Santiago Perfecto Mobile Ultrasound Services, launched on 9th May 2022 in the informal settlements in Kayole, Nairobi, breaks the barrier of cost, time, and convenience for expectant mothers who hardly afford to monitor growth of their unborn babies.
